Well, I FINALLY finished part 2 of this crossover. I thank Victoria Clark for inspiring and encouraging me to finish this with her comments. I hope it was worth the wait!

I love this couple so much. I just think Merlin and Igraine are really sweet together. And to clear up, Igraine is Arthur's mother in this story, but is Morgana's step mother.

Story:

Gwen walks in on Igraine and Merlin together, and she is horrified to witness the adultery. Merlin goes after her to explain his genuine feelings for Igraine. Gwen promises not to say anything to Uther. After the incident, Igraine and Merlin try to keep their distance so no other suspicions arise. Despite their efforts, they keep coming back to each other.

Finally, Merlin decides to run away with Igraine, but Morgana hears their conversation and tells Uther. A trial is held, and they are both sentenced to death. Arthur is devastated for Merlin and for his mother. Together, Gwen and Arthur plot to save them.

***SPOILERS***

Igraine: What are you doing in here? Merlin!

Merlin: It's ok.

Igraine: No. Merlin have I lost my mind?

Merlin: No. I have to go. But I'll come back.

Um, I need your help.

Gwen: Whatever twisted game you're playing-

Merlin: What?

Gwen: I want no part in it.

Merlin: No, no, look I do not have a lot of time to explain, so you are going to have to trust me.

Gwen is a good person, I truly believe that.

Gwen: My Lady.

Igraine: Good morning.

Arthur: Ah, Merlin, I've been looking for you. Something has been upsetting you, hasn't it?

Merlin: Maybe.

Merlin: I wish I could stay.

Igraine: What are you so scared of?

Merlin: We need to be careful.

Igraine: See how death stalks us in life, how we must live every moment for what we wish.

What are you doing?

Merlin: We can leave tonight as soon as it gets dark and we can be together.

Igraine: Merlin you're not making any sense.

Merlin: You're not on your own any more. I'm going to look after you. I promise. I'll try to get horses. We'll need blankets, but, thats all we'll need.

I won't be long.

Igraine: Is this all you?

Morgana: I'm afraid so.

Arthur: You can't do this.

Uther: She's played with fire.

Igraine. Really.

Uther: She will be burnt at the stake.

Merlin. No! It was me. I place myself at your mercy.

Uther: You will pay with your life. Take him away!

Arthur: Mother.

Merlin: My Lady.

Igraine: Merlin! It's taken me so long to find you. I can't bear the thought of losing you now.

Merlin: You can't blame yourself.

Igraine: Yes!

Merlin: I don't think you understand. I've never known anyone like you.

Gwen: Food for the prisoner.

Merlin: Gwen!

Gwen: I'm going to help you escape!

Merlin: Thank you.

Hunith: I worry about you sometimes.

Merlin: Mother, I don't want you to worry.

Hunith: I can't help it, it's what mothers do!

Merlin: Well, we are safe here. All of us.
