Nigerian Military Mourns: Chief of Army Staff Lagbaja Dies at 56

The Nigerian military is in mourning following the announcement of Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja's death. He served as Nigeria's Chief of Army Staff until his passing at the age of 56. Speculation surrounded his health when President Bola Tinubu appointed Major General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede as the acting Chief of Army Staff on October 30th.

The official announcement was made by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, via his X handle at approximately 9:15 AM on November 6th.
