Tanker Explosion In Jigawa State: 108 People Killed, 50 Hospitalized In Majiya Town

The death toll in the devastating petrol tanker explosion in happened in Majia town in Taura local government area of Jigawa State has risen to 108.
The tragic incident happened on Tuesday at 11 pm, when the driver of the petrol laden lost control of the vehicle and crashed. Petrol spilled into the surrounding areas and as locals attempted to scoop the product the tanker exploded.
Police Public Relations Officer of Jigawa command Lawan Adam who confirmed the incident to newsmen in Dutse said those injured in the inferno were rushed to Ringing General Hospital.
The state’s Commissioner of Police has condoled with the people of Majia town and Jigawa State and urged residents to exercise caution and avoid scenes of petrol tanker accidents.
