Macario Sakay, also known as the President of the Bandits is a Katipunan veteran who fled into the mountains and formed a government called the Tagalog Republic, where Macario Sakay declared himself as The President. Macario Sakay’s self-made government was considered as banditry. Macario Sakay was betrayed and eventually fell into the hands of the Americans, who had him executed in 1907.
