Which test to use? | Research | Data Analysis | Statistical Tests
The video describes the factors on which the choice of statistical test depends in order to conduct the data analysis. The researchers/data analysts always struggle with the issue as to Which Test To Apply? The video aims at simplifying the complicated research issues and present them in an easy to understand manner.
There are numerous tests/techniques which can be used to study relationships among the variables namely Pearson Correlation analysis, regression analysis, independent samples t-test, analysis of variance(ANOVA), chi-square test, factor analysis, structural equation modelling and many more. In which situation what test/technique to use, is the biggest issue in research/data analysis. The video presents five factors which can help to decide the type of test/technique to be used. They are:
- The type of variable
- The distribution followed by the variable
- The objectives of the study
- The hypothesis formulated
- Underlying assumptions of the test/technique
There may be few other factors as well but the above five are extremely important. The video explains the five factors along with simple examples using pictorial presentation.
More videos will be posted enhancing the knowledge of the research concepts and simplifying the intricacies in data analysis.
